Both of these are really nice. It took me by surprise to see anyone post something new. I've been too busy to do one of these studies lately and haven't even posted any new images. I guess there are plenty up here already, huh?
Any ways, great job. The colors are really sharp. I think if I were to have one comment it would be to go over your soft brush work with a harder edged brush or a brush that has some good textural qualities. Now that you have such a solid rendering with the light and color, you could probably tighten the focal point and some details up a bit with a brush like I mentioned. Right now they're both kind of soft feeling. That's really it though. Awesome work, I can't wait for your next post!!
Hey thank you so much for the advice, I knew something was off and using those brush techniques should help me a lot. I've never done anything like this before, and it's already paying off such by training my eye with color and light.

Awesome, glad I made sense, haha. Just to be clear, when I say "texture brushes" I don't mean brushes made from photographic textures. I mean regular brushes that have more texture than say, the default hard-round brush or the default opacity flow brush that are towards the top of the default photoshop brush list. Photoshop has some default brushes that will work fine but you'll probably have to experiment a little to see what works best :)
